We're elated to share the news that Young Fathers scooped up this years Mercury Prize for their DEAD LP, beating out such acts as FKA twigs, Damon Albarn, and Kate Tempest. Since 1992 the Mercury Prize has been considered one of the UK's most prestigious awards around (previous year's winners include James Blake, The xx, & Portishead). It was quite the shock to see that Young Fathers had even been nominated for the shortlist last month, so needless to say... we're very pleased and proud to see that an act with such vision and dedication have brought home the award. It's absolutely well deserved.
The group spoke with The Guardian shortly after the ceremony to discuss their victory, what it means to them (not a whole lot, apparently), and their plans for the future. Check it out here.

Speaking primarily on behalf of his Geotic moniker (under which he self-released a lovely new record in July), Will chats with Willits about the creative process, his all-time favorite album, and wild animals. Check it out here.
